Construction Surety Underwriter (Associate Account Executive) - Credit Analyst

Location: Flowood, Mississippi, United States; regular in-person meetings with agents and brokers and travel required.

Annual base salary: $70,400–$116,200, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of construction surety business.
• Underwrite and negotiate routine customer accounts while minimizing risk and maximizing profitability.
• Analyze contractor operations, financial statements, market forces, and business risk.
• Build relationships with agents, brokers, contractors, and internal business partners.
• Market and sell surety solutions, identify cross-selling and new business opportunities, and execute sales plans.
• Travel to in-person meetings with external partners.

Requirements

• At least one year of related professional experience.
• Bachelor’s degree.
• One to three years of applicable underwriting experience.
• Working knowledge of underwriting products, regulatory requirements, and local market conditions.
• Critical thinking and financial analysis skills, with the ability to assess risk and make decisions within risk appetite.
• Communication and negotiation skills for working with agents and brokers.
