What you will do
- Manage laboratory staff, including hiring, training, development, engagement, performance evaluation, and performance management.
- Oversee department schedules, services, results, operational programs, policies, and procedures.
- Lead laboratory, instrumentation, and equipment reviews while supporting compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and policies.
- Resolve escalated technical, customer, operational, and service-related problems or conflicts.
- Manage the department budget, allocate resources, and approve expenditures within assigned authority.
- Coordinate special projects, establish performance metrics, and advise leadership on operational improvements.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs degree in chemistry, biology, environmental science, or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- At least five years of relevant experience, typically including lead or supervisory experience.
- Strong understanding of laboratory principles, program implementation, team development, budgeting, and applicable laws and regulations.
- Ability to supervise and evaluate employees, train teams, prepare reports, give presentations, and manage varied laboratory functions.
- Correct business English, including spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
