Data Intern: Summer 2027

Location: Hybrid schedule in Omaha, Nebraska; must live within commuting distance of the Omaha office from May 26 through July 30, 2027.

What you will do

• Gain hands-on experience in data science and advanced data analytics using cloud technology.
• Explore data and build visualizations that provide insights to business leaders.
• Deliver health data analytics and informatics for groups, providers, members, and internal leadership.
• Use Power BI, R, Excel, and SQL to solve analytical problems and communicate consistent data stories.
• Support data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data integrity initiatives across business lines.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled full-time in college and pursuing a degree, preferably in Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Business Administration.
• Interest in developing a career in data analytics and governance.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Intellectual curiosity, willingness to learn, and a positive attitude.
• Must be able to live within commuting distance of the Omaha office during the internship period.

Nice to have

• Advanced Microsoft Excel experience.
• Knowledge of Power BI, R, and/or SQL.
• Interest in AI/ML concepts, including supervised learning, ethical AI, model interpretability, and responsible data use.
• Familiarity with Python, Databricks, and cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
