Software Engineer (C#/.NET)

Location: Colchester, United Kingdom; hybrid work model with close on-site collaboration and occasional travel between Colchester and Aylesbury.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain machine control software for Nordson Dage tools.
• Design, implement, maintain, and document software functionality, including user interfaces and business logic.
• Work with cross-functional software, engineering, and hardware teams on complex hardware-software interaction problems.
• Support and debug field issues, participate in code reviews and audits, and transfer code into volume manufacture.
• Document software designs and instructions for use.
• Mentor less experienced software engineers and stay current with software development techniques.

Requirements

• Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in C# development in a multi-threaded environment and practical experience with Core C# .NET for GUI development.
• Experience building user interfaces and underlying business-logic layers using XAML and MVVM.
• Experience with XML, XSLT, Entity Framework Core, SQL, and mocking frameworks such as Moq.
• Good understanding of test-driven development, strong numerical skills, and experience designing software architectures.
• Experience developing control software for hardware systems or building simulators.

Nice to have

• Understanding of X-ray inspection and materials testing.
• C++ development experience in a multi-threaded environment.
• Experience with tool-to-factory host communication and standards such as SECS/GEM.
