Software Engineer, Corporate Information Systems - USDS (Backend)

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person up to 5 days a week

Salary: $136,800–$359,720 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure enterprise applications.
• Build and maintain high-performance REST and GraphQL APIs and middleware connecting internal and third-party systems.
• Optimize SQL and NoSQL queries and manage persistence layers for high-volume transactional data.
• Identify performance bottlenecks and implement caching, load balancing, and asynchronous processing.
• Support the migration of monolithic legacy systems to microservices and cloud-native architectures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
• Programming experience with at least one of C, C++, Java, Python, C#, or Go.
• Understanding of microservice architecture and hands-on troubleshooting experience with large-scale distributed systems.
• Passion, self-motivation, and effective teamwork skills.

Nice to have

• Experience building solutions with AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or other cloud services.
