What you will do
- Organize and maintain the tool room, including documentation, drawings, and spare-parts inventory.
- Assist with designing and drafting tooling components under the supervision of qualified engineering staff.
- Coordinate tool repairs and preventive maintenance with internal and external vendors.
- Support ordering and quoting new tooling components and integrating spare parts into SAP and other inventory systems.
- Develop SOPs and work instructions, and document tooling changes and repair histories for traceability and compliance.
- Support root cause analysis, 5S and continuous-improvement activities, as well as basic injection-mold and extrusion maintenance and repairs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or university degree in engineering, such as mechanical or biomedical engineering, or a related scientific or technical field.
- Experience with tool design, fixtures, and mold-making environments.
- Strong measurement skills using micrometers, indicators, and other common tooling measurement equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and CAD files, with knowledge of GD&T.
- Basic familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD software, along with strong organizational and communication skills.
- Fluent English is required for working with international teams and international travel.
