What you will do
- Design APIs and implement platform features, components, and reusable modules.
- Build, test, debug, document, and maintain software that meets business, quality, and operational needs.
- Develop scalable, secure, and highly available applications and contribute to platform architecture.
- Collaborate with product managers, developers, DevOps, support organizations, and peer teams on technical issues and roadmap delivery.
- Review code and documentation, mentor teammates, and promote engineering best practices.
- Investigate complex programming and design problems and improve system performance.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional experience building APIs with Node.js or Python.
- Excellent knowledge of REST API standards and web services.
- Proficiency in AI-assisted design and implementation.
- Experience scaling and performance-tuning REST APIs, debugging issues, and translating requirements into technical designs.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Ability to work in Toronto, Canada; in-person onboarding or identity verification may be required.
Nice to have
- Experience with large-scale production systems and distributed asynchronous systems.
- AWS experience, including SQS, SNS, Elasticsearch, DynamoDB, RDS, and ElastiCache.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum, continuous integration and delivery, and modern software development practices.
