Software Engineer Graduate (Tech and Product, USDS) - 2027 Start

Location: Seattle, United States; fully in-person up to 5 days per week

Salary: $100,320–$177,840 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and deploy production-grade backend microservices and distributed systems.
• Build core backend infrastructure, high-throughput services, and compliance pipelines supporting Recommendations, Search, and E-Commerce.
• Optimize system performance, latency, memory utilization, and resource efficiency.
• Build monitoring, logging, and fault-tolerant mechanisms to maintain high system availability.
• Work on reliable and secure software systems that meet strict data privacy and security standards for U.S. users.

Requirements

• Completing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, computer systems, and software design.
• Strong coding skills in at least one of Go, C++, Java, or Python.
• Ability to work fully in person in Seattle, with on-site attendance up to 5 days per week.
• Availability to begin onboarding by the end of the year; graduation date and availability must be stated in the resume.

Nice to have

• Knowledge or hands-on experience with high-concurrency systems, distributed databases, RPC frameworks, message queues such as Kafka or RocketMQ, or big data systems.
• Technical internship experience at a leading technology company or achievements in competitive programming.
