Senior Manager, Global Category – Indirect Materials

Location: Southfield, Michigan, United States. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

What you will do

• Develop and execute global category strategies for indirect spend, including MRO, facilities, professional services, IT, engineering software, PLM platforms, compliance systems, and machinery and equipment.
• Identify sourcing opportunities, segment suppliers, establish category KPIs, and implement cost-saving initiatives.
• Build strategic supplier relationships, lead complex contract negotiations, and implement supplier governance and continuous improvement plans.
• Partner with IT, Engineering, Facilities, Operations, Finance, and Legal on procurement initiatives, CAPEX planning, compliance systems, and digital transformation.
• Lead Software Asset Management processes and renewal strategies to optimize licensing and usage.
• Develop category managers and sourcing professionals while driving process standardization, policy compliance, risk management, and procurement analytics.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience, including at least 5 years in a global leadership role focused on indirect categories.
• Expertise in MRO, facilities, services, IT licensing, cloud-hosted solutions, software lifecycle management, PLM platforms, machinery and equipment, and supply chain systems.
• Experience developing global category strategies, managing strategic suppliers, and leading complex negotiations.
• Strong stakeholder influence, analytical and financial skills, leadership, communication, and change management experience in a matrixed multinational organization.
• United States work authorization is required; visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future.
