Chemical/Wastewater Treatment Plant Supervisor

Salary: $96,600–$144,900 per year

What you will do

• Supervise union hourly chemical technicians, evaluate performance, enforce company policies, and handle grievance hearings under the applicable company/union contract.
• Train, certify, coach, and track apprenticeship progress for chemical technicians.
• Maintain boiler water chemistry and environmental compliance by analyzing plant data, reviewing reports, inspecting equipment, and implementing corrective actions.
• Plan daily and outage work, assign preventive maintenance, and verify completion.
• Lead safety inspections, equipment calibrations, safety meetings, and compliance with OSHA Laboratory Standards.
• Prepare budgets, control expenditures, initiate capital and O&M projects, and communicate operational issues to management and hourly employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• At least 4 years of equivalent college chemistry/science experience, or 8 years of power plant work experience.
• At least 4 years of supervisory experience.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and must not require employer sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to support emergency response efforts, including work outside normal hours and duties beyond typical responsibilities when needed.

Nice to have

• 10+ years of supervisory experience.
• 10+ years of power plant experience.
• Certified Material Selection/Design Specialist-NACE certification upon hire.
