TL;DR
Senior Software Engineer - Backend (Platform) (backend/platform): Building scalable backend services and platform architecture for an AI-powered communication coaching product with an accent on reliability, cloud infrastructure, analytics, search, monitoring, security, and cost management. Focus on designing secure and maintainable distributed systems, debugging complex infrastructure, and solving high-scale challenges that support rapid product growth.
Location: Seattle, WA; on-site three days per week on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday
Base compensation: $160,000–$190,000 per year, plus significant equity opportunities

What you will do
- Build backend services and platform architecture powering the product.
- Develop systems across analytics, data, search, infrastructure, monitoring, cost management, security, and scalability.
- Own backend services end to end, from architecture and implementation through production delivery.
- Solve high-scale technical challenges and deliver reliable solutions for growing customer demand.
- Collaborate across engineering and product to connect technical work with user and business outcomes.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience shipping production code.
- Strong backend experience building scalable and reliable services.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure using GCP, AWS, or Azure, as well as Infrastructure as Code.
- Proficiency in TypeScript or Python and the ability to debug complex distributed systems.
- Strong communication, collaboration, system design, and code quality skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, plus the ability to work on-site in Seattle three days per week.
Nice to have
- Experience with NoSQL databases and Kubernetes.
- Google Cloud Platform experience.
