Senior Director

Location: Tokyo, Japan; eligible employees may work remotely one day per week.

What you will do

• Provide legal, compliance, and business affairs counsel to hirify.global Asia, serving as the primary attorney for the Japan business.
• Advise Marketing Partnerships, Merchandising, Events, and Basketball Operations teams across the Asia region.
• Support the development, structuring, execution, and commercialization of regional events.
• Draft, review, and negotiate marketing partnership, merchandising, promoter, and service provider agreements.
• Advise on regulatory issues and strategic initiatives, working with outside counsel when needed.
• Implement policies, controls, and organizational best practices; train business staff and manage partner due diligence.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of combined experience at a top-tier law firm and the legal department of a multinational corporation.
• Cross-border transactional and compliance experience.
• Excellent written and oral business communication, contract drafting, negotiation, and issue-spotting skills.
• Fluency in English and Japanese required.
• Law degree from a reputable law school and admission to practice law in Japan, a US state, or another relevant jurisdiction.
• Ability to work with people from diverse cultures and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
