Senior Software Cyber Security Developer

Location: Frascati, Italy

Salary: €50,000–€60,000 gross annual salary, based on experience and seniority.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain industrial software using secure coding practices and secure software development lifecycle principles.
• Analyze security vulnerabilities, software defects, field issues, CVEs, security advisories, and vulnerability disclosures.
• Design, test, validate, and deploy security patches, mitigations, workarounds, and emergency hot fixes.
• Manage the vulnerability lifecycle, including assessment, prioritization, remediation, and verification using risk-based and CVSS methodologies.
• Participate in threat modeling, secure architecture reviews, and software security improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with QA and cybersecurity teams, manage Git-based release workflows, and document findings and remediation decisions.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of professional experience in software development, software maintenance, or cybersecurity-related software engineering.
• Strong knowledge of secure coding, OWASP Top 10, CWE, vulnerability management, CVE, CVSS, and security advisories.
• Experience with object-oriented programming, particularly Delphi/Object Pascal, C++, or C#; experience with Modbus, TCP/IP sockets, OPC, RS485, and serial interfaces.
• Experience with Git, Bitbucket or similar tools, release management, Agile and DevOps environments, CI/CD pipelines, databases, and unit testing frameworks.
• Experience performing root cause analysis, defining corrective actions, and developing security patches and emergency hot fixes.

Nice to have

• Experience with public security advisories, CVE disclosures, coordinated vulnerability disclosure, NVD, MITRE CVE, CISA advisories, or PSIRT teams.
• Open-source collaboration, security certifications, or specialized security training.
• Knowledge of machine learning frameworks, industrial data analysis, predictive maintenance, networking, VMware, Docker, or LDAP.
