ME Systems - Manufacturing Data Scientist (Machine Learning)

Location: Lisbon, Portugal. Candidates must be legally eligible to work in Portugal and hold a valid residence permit or work visa, Portuguese NIF, and Portuguese NISS.

What you will do

• Analyze manufacturing engineering data from processes such as ultrasonic welding, torque machines, ROB, and crimping.
• Identify patterns, trends, and insights using historical data and statistical process control comparisons.
• Clean and validate data, handle missing or anomalous values, and build feature engineering pipelines for time-series data.
• Develop, optimize, and benchmark statistical, forecasting, and machine learning models in Python.
• Visualize results and communicate technical findings to management and non-technical stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, planning, and experimentation with new machine learning techniques.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of experience in a relevant project.
• Knowledge of machine learning fundamentals, data analysis, and data visualization.
• Intermediate knowledge of Python, Scikit-Learn, Streamlit, Seaborn, NumPy, Pandas, SQL, Plotly, and StatsModels.
• Advanced knowledge of mathematics and statistics.
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders in dynamic, cross-functional environments.
• Fluent English and legal eligibility to work in Portugal are required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Information Technology, or Engineering.
• Interest in causal machine learning and expanding expertise across machine learning domains.
