Junior Application Engineer (Machine Vision)

Location: Detroit, MI, US; on-site work required. Travel may be required.

Salary: $120,000–$140,000 annual.

What you will do

• Support the design, configuration, and deployment of machine vision applications.
• Work with industrial cameras, lenses, lighting, and vision sensors.
• Assist with image acquisition, inspection logic, and vision workflows.
• Configure and test vision software for different manufacturing use cases.
• Support proof-of-concepts, demonstrations, and pilot deployments.
• Collaborate with engineering and automation teams, troubleshoot vision issues, and maintain technical documentation.

Requirements

• BE, BTech, Diploma, or MSc in Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field; students and fresh graduates are welcome.
• Hands-on exposure or formal training in machine vision is mandatory.
• Basic understanding of image processing and computer vision concepts.
• Familiarity with cameras, lighting, lenses, and vision systems.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to work on-site and travel when required.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Cognex, Keyence, Omron, OpenCV, HALCON, or similar vision software and tools.
