TL;DR
Sr. Director, Exclusive Brands and Global Sourcing (Product Development/Manufacturing): Leading the development and sourcing of private-brand industrial, furniture, electrical, plumbing, safety, and storage products from concept through production and launch with an accent on worldwide suppliers, cost optimization, quality, and regulatory compliance. Focus on managing high-complexity cross-functional projects, building vendor and factory relationships, and developing a team of 3–5 direct reports.
Location: Port Washington, New York, United States; up to 30% domestic and international travel.
Salary: $200,000–$260,000 annually.

What you will do
- Lead the development of new private-brand products from concept through production, delivery, and launch.
- Expand product offerings across material handling, storage and shelving, safety, janitorial and sanitation, furniture, plumbing, and electrical categories.
- Manage complex projects covering branding, packaging, quality, regulatory and safety requirements, intellectual property, user experience, and marketing considerations.
- Identify cost-saving and high-quality production solutions through domestic and international sourcing.
- Build relationships with external vendors and factories and improve manufacturing processes.
- Supervise and develop 3–5 Project Engineers, Managers, Leads, and Associates while coordinating with global staff and cross-functional departments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required; Engineering, Industrial Design, or Business preferred.
- 15 years of experience managing worldwide suppliers and vendors.
- At least 7 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Prior supervisory and leadership experience, with strong negotiation, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of international sourcing, landed cost calculations, worldwide logistics, trade compliance, and cross-cultural communication.
- Experience with ERP systems, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and standards including OSHA, ANSI, NEC, NSF, UL/ETL, and BIFMA.
