Technical Manager, Local Media

Location: Secaucus, USA; based in the hirify.global Secaucus office with in-office attendance required five days per week. Requires evenings, weekends, holidays, extended hours, on-call rotations, and occasional domestic travel to hirify.global arenas and League events.

Salary: $130,000–$165,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the Technical Manager function supporting hirify.global Local Media productions, including coaching, scheduling, onboarding, and performance management of freelance Technical Managers.
• Oversee broadcast contribution, routing, monitoring, transmission, master control, connectivity, and distribution workflows for live hirify.global games.
• Coordinate technical readiness across hirify.global arenas, hirify.global Secaucus, engineering, production operations vendors, distribution teams, and participating hirify.global teams.
• Lead live-production escalations, incident response, troubleshooting, contingency planning, and service restoration.
• Develop operational standards, runbooks, KPIs, service levels, governance processes, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
• Support new production technology implementations, maintenance windows, deployments, network changes, and system upgrades.

Requirements

• 8–10+ years of progressively responsible experience in live broadcast production, production technology, broadcast engineering, or technical operations.
• Leadership experience managing technical personnel in live sports broadcasts or large-scale broadcast operations.
• Experience with multi-venue production environments and mission-critical live event operations.
• Expert knowledge of live broadcast systems, end-to-end signal flow, IP-based broadcast infrastructure, contribution networks, transmission systems, and distribution workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting, incident management, root cause analysis, communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
• A bachelor’s degree in broadcast engineering, engineering, computer science, information technology, media production, or a related field is preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience with REMI, centralized production, master control, and cloud-enabled production workflows.
• Familiarity with SMPTE ST 2110, NMOS, SRT, NDI, JPEG XS, multicast networking, and related broadcast technologies.
• Professional sports or major live event production experience.
