What you will do
- Collect, convert, organize, and analyze geospatial data for engineering, planning, infrastructure, and land development projects.
- Create accurate maps, exhibits, and visualizations to support client decision-making.
- Prepare GIS documentation and metadata, and maintain spatial databases.
- Collaborate with project teams and clients to understand needs and deliver GIS solutions.
- Support data management, quality control, and GIS workflow improvements.
- Apply established GIS methods and may assist with coordinating GIS Technicians and Drafters on project tasks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Cartography, or a related field.
- 0–3 years of GIS experience, including professional, internship, or academic project experience.
- Experience with Esri’s ArcGIS software suite.
- Familiarity with database management concepts, SQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and Oracle.
- Ability to interpret surveys, legal descriptions, construction plans, and aerial or orthophotography data.
- Understanding of mapping principles, coordinate systems, projections, cartographic standards, and accurate geospatial deliverables.
