Director, IT Infrastructure & Operations (AWS)

Salary: $260K–$300K per year, plus bonus and equity

What you will do

• Lead infrastructure, cybersecurity operations, end user services, and IT service management as one integrated function.
• Manage enterprise architecture, system administration, cybersecurity operations, internal staff, and managed service providers.
• Consolidate infrastructure, security, and help desk providers into a smaller, more accountable portfolio.
• Build a cybersecurity operations function from contractor and MDR coverage.
• Align research and scientific computing infrastructure with IT, including AWS ParallelCluster, HPC, EKS, ECS, SageMaker, and identity bridges.
• Establish identity and access management processes and improve the end-to-end service experience and vendor management discipline.

Requirements

• 12+ years of progressive technology services leadership, including 5+ years at Director or Senior Director level.
• Experience leading infrastructure, cyber operations, and ITSM as a single integrated scope.
• Deep experience with AWS, Microsoft Entra, and Microsoft 365.
• Familiarity with scientific and ML computing infrastructure, HPC, AWS ParallelCluster, SageMaker, EKS, ECS, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Track record managing managed service provider portfolios, vendor consolidations, and infrastructure in fast-moving, resource-constrained environments.
• Experience in a regulated industry and a bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Biotech or pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Experience supporting FDA Pre-Approval Inspection or BIMO inspection activities.
• Experience establishing security operations from contractor or MSP coverage.
• Experience partnering with scientific computing organizations and MDR providers such as RedCanary, Kroll, or Arctic Wolf.
• Experience with Jira Service Management, ServiceNow, or public company SOX IT general controls.
