Associate, Asset Management

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; based at Scion’s Chicago corporate office. Requires on-site property inspections and up to 20% travel. Standard daytime business hours with flexibility during peak periods.

Salary: $105,000–$125,000 USD annually, plus bonus and benefits.

What you will do

• Oversee operational performance, value creation, and risk mitigation across an assigned portfolio of properties.
• Conduct on-site property inspections and communicate performance concerns to relevant stakeholders.
• Evaluate redevelopment opportunities, capital improvements, repositioning strategies, expected rent premiums, and ROI.
• Prepare financial models, capital project and retail lease reports, investor-facing quarterly packages, and annual budget inputs.
• Monitor local retail market trends and collaborate with brokers to improve portfolio occupancy.
• Negotiate retail letters of intent and manage tenant improvement scopes, insurance compliance, rental rates, CAM charges, concessions, and customer service.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, economics, or another STEM field.
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in real estate finance and analytics, including commercial real estate asset management experience.
• Advanced analytical skills and the ability to communicate complex datasets to internal management and external partners.
• Advanced financial modeling skills and advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Eligibility to work in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
