TL;DR
Vision Algorithm Software Engineer (Computer Vision): Developing and integrating image-processing algorithms for semiconductor FOUP inspection systems with an accent on camera-based inspection, optical components, sensors, and lighting. Focus on adapting Halcon algorithms, evaluating new customer samples, commissioning inspection systems, and solving onsite installation and troubleshooting challenges.

Location: Hsinchu, Taiwan; onsite work with occasional customer-site travel

Salary: NT$1,357,919.48–NT$1,837,185.18 per year

What you will do

  • Adapt and further develop image-processing algorithms for camera-based inspection systems using GigE Vision interfaces, sensors, optics, and lighting.
  • Select cameras, lenses, lighting, and other components for customer visual-inspection systems.
  • Develop image-processing algorithms with MVTec Halcon for FOUP inspection systems.
  • Integrate, commission, and functionally test inspection systems.
  • Prepare feasibility analyses for new samples and customer requirements.
  • Conduct camera and illumination tests, collaborate with other teams, and travel to customer sites for installations and onsite troubleshooting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, automation, or mechatronics.
  • Professional experience in image processing, machine vision, computer vision, compression, or algorithm development.
  • At least 2 years of experience with image-processing libraries such as MVTec Halcon, OpenCV, or Matrox.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills with a customer- and solution-oriented approach.
  • Fluent English is mandatory.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 30% and work onsite in Hsinchu.
