Requirements Engineer (Agile/SQL): Shaping underwriting technology by eliciting and translating business needs into clear, testable requirements, user stories, and functional specifications with an accent on stakeholder alignment, backlog management, and API/data analysis. Focus on investigating production issues, validating delivered solutions through acceptance testing, and maintaining traceable documentation for a core underwriting workbench.
Location: Bratislava, Slovakia; hybrid setup
Base salary: EUR 2,100–3,400 per month for a full-time role, plus potential performance-based rewards and benefits.

What you will do
- Elicit and document business and functional requirements through workshops, interviews, and collaborative stakeholder sessions.
- Translate complex business needs into testable user stories, use cases, and functional specifications.
- Prioritize and manage the product backlog with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders.
- Analyse existing functionality and processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Investigate production issues, define remediation requirements, and coordinate resolution with engineering teams.
- Validate delivered solutions through reviews and acceptance testing while maintaining traceable documentation.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience as a Requirements Engineer or Business Systems Analyst in a technology-driven environment.
- Proven ability to gather, analyse, and document structured business and functional requirements.
- Hands-on experience with Agile/Scrum, backlog management, and sprint planning.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across technical and business groups.
- Experience testing and exploring APIs with tools such as Bruno or Postman, and ability to interpret responses.
- Ability to understand JSON and write basic SQL queries for investigation and testing.
Nice to have
- Experience in insurance or financial services, especially underwriting.
- Familiarity with BPMN or UML modelling.
- Production support and incident management experience.
- Knowledge of software testing principles and experience supporting UAT.
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools.
