Location: Western (Southwest) Newfoundland and Labrador, with the position listed at the NL Head Office in St. John's. Regular business hours are required, with some irregular hours and travel possible.
Salary: $105,000β$115,000 annually, plus eligibility for performance-based incentive programs.

What you will do
- Direct and oversee day-to-day 24/7 EMS operations across the contracted service area and surrounding communities.
- Manage more than 100 paramedics, including performance management, recruitment, staff development, and workforce planning.
- Maintain ambulance vehicles, support vehicles, and medical equipment while promoting patient and workplace safety.
- Implement operational changes to improve patient care, service levels, reporting, and risk mitigation.
- Coordinate paramedic resources with emergency services, external partners, and organizational stakeholders.
- Lead major incident and disaster management activities, support investigations, and report findings to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Completion of an approved paramedic training program and current registration as a Primary Care Paramedic or Advanced Care Paramedic in Newfoundland and Labrador.
- At least five years of paramedic experience, including three years in a progressively responsible leadership role or equivalent.
- Experience in EMS management, information technology, finance, and human resources.
- Knowledge of federal, provincial, and municipal legislation and regulations for ground ambulance and emergency medical services.
- Valid Class 4 driver's licence in Newfoundland and Labrador or equivalent.
- Strong independent judgment, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, dispute-resolution, and staff leadership skills.
Nice to have
- Post-secondary education in business administration.
