Data Scientist, Ads - USDS (Ads)

Location: San Jose R&D; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $144,000–$329,334 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Analyze large and complex datasets using advanced analytical methods.
• Manage the full analysis lifecycle, including data gathering, requirements specification, processing, analysis, deliverables, and presentations.
• Build and iteratively prototype scalable analysis pipelines.
• Develop expertise in TikTok data structures and metrics and advocate for improvements supporting product development.
• Partner cross-functionally to provide cost-benefit analyses, forecasts, experiment analyses, and quantitative business recommendations.
• Research and develop analysis, forecasting, and optimization methods to improve TikTok ads products.

Requirements

• BA, master's degree, PhD, or equivalent practical experience in a quantitative discipline such as statistics, operations research, economics, computer science, mathematics, or physics.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
• Expertise in statistical data analysis, including linear models, multivariate analysis, stochastic models, and sampling methods.
• Experience with statistical software such as R, Python, or MATLAB.
• Experience with database languages such as SQL.
• Demonstrated ability to select appropriate statistical tools and communicate findings effectively.

Nice to have

• Experience with ads, recommendation, e-commerce, or search products.
• Leadership, self-direction, and willingness to teach and learn new techniques.
