Head of Finance (AI)

Location: Palo Alto, California, United States; on-site with WFH Wednesdays

Base salary: $180,000–$250,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead accounting, FP&A, budgeting, treasury, accounts payable and receivable, and payroll.
• Build scalable financial planning, modeling, forecasting, and reporting processes.
• Develop financial strategy, support fundraising, and guide cross-functional resource allocation.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close, statutory audits, tax filings, and financial reporting.
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, GAAP, and internal controls.
• Partner with Product, Sales, Operations, executives, and the board on business strategy and financial decisions.

Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including finance team management in a high-growth company or startup.
• Expertise in financial modeling, forecasting, accounting principles, and business analytics.
• Broad experience across budgeting, treasury, compliance, and internal controls.
• Experience supporting fundraising, investor reporting, and board deliverables.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required.
• Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, and leadership skills, including confidence presenting to C-suite executives and the board.

Nice to have

• CPA or MBA.
• Experience in technology, SaaS, or creative AI.
• Leadership experience at a venture-backed startup.
• Experience implementing or scaling financial systems or working with external partners.
