Platform Engineer (Cloud)

Location: On-site in Arlington, Virginia, United States. Occasional travel of up to 10% may be required.

Salary: $97,000–$192,000 per year.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain common platform tools and services for data management and analytics.
• Design and implement containerization, orchestration, and service mesh capabilities.
• Build self-service tools that improve developer productivity.
• Establish platform monitoring, observability, security controls, and compliance mechanisms.
• Optimize platform performance and resource utilization through CI/CD automation.
• Evaluate new technologies, create documentation and training materials, and collaborate with infrastructure and application teams.

Requirements

• Current authorization to work full-time in the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
• A SECRET security clearance is required.
• Junior: 0–3 years of experience and a bachelor's degree; Journeyman: 4–7 years and a bachelor's degree; Senior: 8+ years and a bachelor's degree.
• Relevant certifications include Cloud+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+, or SSCP for junior/journeyman roles, and SecurityX/CASP+, CCNP Security, CCSP, FITSP-O, or GFACT for senior roles.
• Professional proficiency in English is required.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, strong communication skills, and a self-starter mindset.
