Software Engineer, Ads ML Infrastructure - USDS (AI)

Location: Los Angeles R&D; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $129,960–$341,734 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Build, optimize, and operate machine learning frameworks for large-scale Ads model training and serving.
• Develop efficient, scalable, and stable infrastructure for advertising machine learning, ranking, and big data systems.
• Drive key technical projects and engineering innovation initiatives.
• Collaborate with internal teams, external stakeholders, and cross-functional organizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related technical discipline.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience building and training complex, scalable machine learning systems.
• Knowledge of mainstream machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
• Understanding of high-performance computing, applied ML models including MLP, Transformer, and MoE, and hardware acceleration technologies such as GPU and RDMA.
• Strong foundations in coding, algorithms, data structures, software design, and problem-solving.
• Project management experience, effective communication skills, ownership, and initiative.

Nice to have

• Experience in the advertising domain.
• Experience building large-scale ranking and machine learning infrastructure.
• Experience processing petabyte-scale data.
