Site Reliability Engineer, Product - USDS

Location: San Jose R&D; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Base salary: $122,574–$259,200 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Monitor and maintain product services including video playback, content discovery and recommendations, live streaming, and customer service feedback.
• Measure and improve service availability, performance, system health, SLAs, and SLOs.
• Support site issues as part of a global engineering team and improve reliability, fault tolerance, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Automate routine operations and evolve system reliability, efficiency, and deployment velocity.
• Provide user support, respond to incidents, and conduct postmortems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of experience deploying and administering large-scale distributed systems; graduates may apply.
• Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux internals and administration, networking including TCP/IP and routing, storage systems, and databases.
• Programming experience in one or more of C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Ruby, Rust, or JavaScript.
• Experience debugging and optimizing code, automating routine tasks, and working with systems such as Nginx, Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, Hadoop, Spark, Flink, or Kafka.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
