Intern Engineering

Location: Hybrid, with the internship based in the Lakeville, Minnesota or Mankato, Minnesota office; up to 50% work from home. Must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Complete well-defined software engineering assignments covering design, development, testing, automation, deployment, support, and continuous improvement.
• Apply software engineering fundamentals while learning cloud-native, DevSecOps, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and delivery practices.
• Use AI-enabled engineering tools, Agentic AI patterns, and AI agents responsibly under supervision while validating results and protecting sensitive information.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical discussions, code reviews, documentation, operational support, root-cause learning, and improvement activities.
• Collaborate with engineers, quality engineers, product managers, architects, platform engineers, UX designers, and business partners.
• Develop the technical and professional capabilities needed for potential progression into an Associate Engineer role.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Coursework in programming, software engineering fundamentals, algorithms, data structures, or comparable technical subjects.
• Software development experience through coursework, personal projects, hackathons, research, open-source contributions, or similar learning experiences.
• Experience with at least one modern programming language or development framework, plus exposure to cloud-native application development and a cloud platform.
• Familiarity with Git-based source control, Agile development, automated testing, CI/CD, DevSecOps, or observability.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively, apply feedback, solve routine technical problems, protect confidential information, and develop clean, secure, maintainable software under guidance.
