Machine Learning Engineer Graduate (E-Commerce)

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

What you will do

• Architect and develop LLM-based systems for high-dimensional unstructured data, including text, logs, and conversations.
• Build semantic understanding frameworks for fine-grained intent classification and entity extraction.
• Improve model performance through instruction tuning, RLHF/DPO, and contextual prompt engineering.
• Optimize production model serving using quantization, distillation, FlashAttention, and vLLM.
• Develop AI capabilities for e-commerce video, products, multimodal classification, video question answering, and cross-modal retrieval.

Requirements

• Completing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
• Experience in machine learning, natural language processing, or computer vision.
• Software development proficiency in at least one of: C++, Python, Go, or Java.
• Ability to commit to an onboarding date by the end of 2027.
• Resume must clearly state availability and graduation date.

Nice to have

• Experience fine-tuning, distilling, or applying reinforcement learning to large language models for conversational AI.
• Experience with multilingual NLP, machine translation, and cross-lingual dialogue modeling.
• Experience developing e-commerce video and product multimodal large models.
• Understanding of e-commerce policies, dispute resolution, and merchant-buyer interactions.
