Senior Software Engineer, AI Data Application – USDS

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $187,040–$438,000 annually, with potential eligibility for discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Design and develop 0-1 AI-driven internal products, including automated SQL generation, conversational RAG systems, and intelligent on-call diagnosis bots.
• Analyze Meego workflows to identify manual bottlenecks and build self-service tools for non-technical stakeholders.
• Integrate Meego into feature release pipelines to support data-informed decisions and reduce operational risk during global deployments.
• Provide high-precision data and tooling support for Legal, Finance, HR, and Government Relations.
• Partner with global teams to platformize AI pilots such as automated A/B experiment reporting and resource allocation systems.

Requirements

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of software development experience, with a strong background in backend systems or platform engineering.
• Proficiency in at least one core programming language, such as Python, Go, Java, or C++.
• Experience building or deploying LLM-based agents, RAG systems, or time-series forecasting models.
• Experience developing internal productivity tools, data discovery assistants, automated reporting pipelines, or similar platforms.
• Experience acting as a Technical Lead, mentoring junior engineers, and leading 0-1 initiatives from conception to production.
