CDL A Yard Driver

What you will do

• Reposition commercial tractors and trailers within the distribution yard and back trailers to dock doors.
• Shuttle tractors and trailers to and from logistics and lease suppliers, and take trailers for washing and cleaning.
• Inspect vehicles, document defects, maintain DVIR booklets, and communicate maintenance needs.
• Check refrigerated trailer temperatures and ensure warehouse teams have equipment for loading and unloading.
• Assist with unloading, backhauls, and designated delivery routes when required.
• Follow yard safety, DOT, company policies, and vehicle and product accountability procedures.

Requirements

• Valid Class A CDL with air brakes and a current DOT medical certificate.
• At least six months of verifiable commercial motor vehicle driving experience; one year preferred.
• High school diploma or GED and minimum age of 21.
• Must meet vehicle-record standards and pass recurring background checks.
• Must be available for overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, short-notice assignments, and mandatory overtime as needed.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, climb stairs, lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally, and work outdoors, in refrigerated conditions, and around loud machinery.
