Senior Machine Learning Engineer, Recommendations - USDS

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $187,040–$359,720 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Build large-scale recommendation algorithms and systems for commodity, e-commerce, live stream, and short video recommendations.
• Develop long- and short-term user interest models from large and diverse datasets.
• Design, evaluate, and iterate on predictive models for candidate generation and ranking, including click-through-rate and conversion-rate prediction.
• Build real-time data pipelines, perform feature engineering, and optimize machine learning models.
• Design supporting and debugging tools for recommendation systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong programming and problem-solving skills.
• Applied machine learning experience with algorithms such as collaborative filtering, matrix factorization, factorization machines, Word2vec, logistic regression, gradient boosting trees, deep neural networks, or wide and deep models.
• Experience with TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language, such as C++ or Python.

Nice to have

• Experience in recommendation systems, online advertising, information retrieval, natural language processing, machine learning, or large-scale data mining.
• Publications at relevant machine learning conferences or experience in data mining and machine learning competitions such as Kaggle or KDD Cup.
