Fire Protection Engineer (Nuclear Energy)

Salary: $112,000–$137,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design and analyze fire protection and life safety systems for office, reactor, and other facility infrastructure.
• Develop building and fire code compliance documents and fire/life safety designs.
• Perform hazardous material analysis, including chemical classification, quantity analysis, inventory management, and related system design support.
• Support facility construction teams with field solutions and review contractor shop drawing packages.
• Support commissioning activities for reactor facility builds.
• Conduct code reviews and prepare technical reports and presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline.
• At least 1 year of experience designing and constructing fire protection systems.
• Working knowledge of building, fire, and NFPA codes and standards.
• Knowledge of OSHA compliance requirements.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license.
• NICET certification in a relevant fire protection program.
• FDS software modeling capabilities.
• Construction, facility management, or consulting engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
