What you will do
- Lead IRC's emergency response to the Bundibugyo virus disease outbreak in the DRC.
- Direct program, operational, financial, supply chain, security, people and culture, partnership, and reporting functions.
- Ensure continuity of primary health care, strengthen infection prevention and control, and support community protection and awareness.
- Represent IRC with government officials, donors, UN agencies, INGOs, local partners, media, and coordination bodies.
- Supervise Ebola response department leads and coordinate strategic planning, funding, budgets, and program implementation.
- Support the transition and integration of the emergency response into the broader DRC country program.
Requirements
- University degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience preferred.
- At least 8 years of experience leading complex on-site emergency health response projects or programs.
- Experience leading large, complex, multispecialty projects and managing significant budgets.
- Strong leadership, communication, coordination, influence, and matrix-management skills.
- Experience working with diverse teams and communities, including marginalized and at-risk groups.
- Excellent spoken and written English and French are required.
