Data Scientist, Payment Analytics (Payments)

Location: San Jose, United States; fully in-person schedule up to 5 days a week

Salary: $144,000–$329,334 annually, with potential discretionary bonuses, incentives, and restricted stock units.

What you will do

• Develop analytics and reporting initiatives for strategy, operations, business, engineering, and R&D stakeholders.
• Analyze large and complex datasets using regression, machine learning, hypothesis testing, and other statistical approaches.
• Measure KPI changes, business initiative impact, customer experience, and payment performance through indexes and monitoring frameworks.
• Design foundational tests and backtesting approaches to evaluate credit risk strategies and segment user profiles.
• Build predictive analyses and support revenue and loss forecasts, budgeting, risk management, and incident management.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify patterns, correlations, concentrations, root causes, and opportunities for secure payment growth.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data science, risk, machine learning, and A/B testing.
• 3+ years of coding experience with Python, Hive, and SQL, including machine learning functions and forecasting models.
• 5+ years of experience with Tableau or other data visualization tools.
• Experience manipulating and integrating data from multiple sources, with knowledge of data quality, seasonality, and training-data limitations.
• Experience with test design, feature creation, model development, documentation, and communicating recommendations clearly.
• Ability to work on-site in San Jose, with in-person attendance up to five days per week.

• Knowledge of the payments industry.
• Risk analytics or operations experience in financial services, e-commerce, or operational performance.
