Head of Actuarial Pricing Analytics - North America (AI)

Location: Chicago, Illinois, United States; primarily office-based

Base salary for Illinois: $147,000–$185,000 annually, plus eligibility for a bonus.

What you will do

• Build and maintain advanced statistical modelling pipelines supporting rating tools and business decisions across North American commercial insurance products.
• Lead delivery of coded models on AWS SageMaker AI and oversee non-code Radar pipelines, including documentation, controls, and governance.
• Train and coach actuaries in advanced modelling, analytics, AI-enabled tools, and best practices.
• Enhance and standardize scalable modelling processes and tools across the North American product portfolio.
• Research and embed data science, AI, and GenAI techniques while influencing senior stakeholders on adoption.
• Own Agile project delivery, review code against rigorous standards, and manage multiple junior resources.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in technical pricing, actuarial work, or predictive modelling.
• Degree in mathematics, computer science, or a related discipline.
• Strong coding skills in R, Python, or another data science language, with version control, testing, code review, and reproducible pipeline practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms and modelling solutions such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Emblem, or Radar; production deployment and pipeline governance experience are strongly preferred.
• Practical experience using AI and GenAI tools for analytics delivery, with model risk controls, documentation, validation, and governance.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, time-management, and stakeholder-management skills; actuarial qualification or equivalent experience is preferred.

• Experience leading AWS and Radar modelling pipelines.
