Prototype Soldering Technician

Location: Kansas City, Missouri, USA; onsite

What you will do

• Assemble products in prototype and production areas using manual and automatic tools.
• Interpret product process plans and complex engineering drawings.
• Perform wiring, component installation, hand soldering, cable harnessing, and fitting on electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, and measurement systems.
• Set up production and test machines while following tolerances in component and assembly drawings.
• Test and evaluate company and competitor products, separating non-conforming products from conforming products.
• Provide Engineering with feedback on process, fixture, and documentation improvements and communicate maintenance needs.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of soldering experience.
• At least 3 years of experience preparing and terminating cables and fine wires.
• Experience using microscopes, comparators, and other measuring devices.
• IPC J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610 certifications; IPC-A-620 certification or extensive hands-on training is required for competent role performance.
• Ability to maintain production schedules, adapt to daily changes, and meet shipping requirements.
• US citizenship or permanent resident status is not required.
