Territory Sales Trainer (Insurance): Training and developing new 1099 sales managers and representatives across a Houston territory with an accent on consultative selling, prospecting activity, coaching, and insurance sales processes. Focus on leading field and classroom training, improving lead-management adoption, certifying new managers, and supporting recruiting and broker representative development.
Location: Houston, Texas, USA; requires working outside an office up to 75% of the time, with overnight travel depending on territory geography.

What you will do
- Onboard new 1099 sales managers and representatives through demonstrations, coaching, role-playing, and consultative selling instruction.
- Drive territory prospecting through joint field work, weekly call clinics, B2B drops, incentives, and lead follow-up.
- Coach unit managers through weekly one-to-one sessions and activity planning focused on production.
- Train sales managers and representatives to use the lead-management system and interpret sales-cycle data.
- Deliver virtual and face-to-face classroom training, facilitate role plays, and provide participant feedback.
- Support product rollouts, broker representative development, recruiting initiatives, territory events, and communication with the Home Office.
Requirements
- Experience in training and development, sales, and closing cases across the full sales process.
- Previous management experience or demonstrated ability to coach and mentor managers.
- Licensed to solicit insurance or able to obtain the required insurance license within 45 days.
- Ability to lead prospecting activity, execute company initiatives with limited supervision, and manage time and organization effectively.
- Strong presentation, written and verbal communication, interpersonal, leadership, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Willingness to travel and work outside an office for up to 75% of the time.
Nice to have
- College degree or equivalent experience.
- Microsoft suite proficiency and experience training others on technology platforms.
- Adult education experience, voluntary benefits experience, or familiarity with Colonial Life's prospecting and selling system.
- Experience working as or with 1099 independent contractors.
