TL;DR
Construction Representative (Civil Infrastructure): Monitoring transportation, civil, and municipal infrastructure construction projects with an accent on field inspections, plan compliance, material testing, and quantity measurements. Focus on documenting site activities, preparing change orders, coordinating with contractors and clients, and resolving construction issues.

Location: Rochester, Minnesota, United States. Candidates must reside in the Rochester area; employees residing in Alaska, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Puerto Rico cannot be hired at this time. Relocation may be considered.

Base compensation: $35–$45 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

What you will do

  • Monitor construction activities on transportation, civil, and municipal infrastructure projects for compliance with approved plans and specifications.
  • Document daily field and inspection activities, including material sampling, testing, and quantity measurements.
  • Assist with preconstruction meetings, progress updates, conflict resolution, and construction change orders.
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and hirify.global project teams.
  • Support proposals, project budget and schedule estimates, and constructability reviews as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous construction experience.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and navigate rough terrain on construction sites.
  • Willingness to travel for team meetings, client consultations, and site observations.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license, acceptable driving record, and authorization to work for any U.S. employer without current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

  • Two years of relevant experience.
  • Applicable DOT technical certifications or the ability to obtain them within six months.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation.
  • Familiarity with Bluebeam.
