What you will do
- Lead country-level cross-functional project teams for China and Japan as an extension of global development teams.
- Generate and position regulatory, clinical, operational, portfolio, and commercial insights in global project strategy.
- Translate global strategies into scenario-based country delivery plans while managing risk, feasibility, value trade-offs, resources, and escalation.
- Coordinate execution across country R&D, commercial, regional, and global stakeholders.
- Lead complex decision-making, conflict resolution, strategic trade-offs, and critical project issue resolution.
- Prepare governance documentation, represent R&D externally, and maintain aligned communication across stakeholders.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in drug development, including 3 years leading cross-functional matrix teams in a global R&D organization.
- Thorough knowledge of global drug development, registration, and pharmaceutical portfolio risk management.
- In-depth knowledge of China and/or Japan local practices, policies, and regulations, including commercial market considerations.
- Proven cross-functional project delivery, stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Scientific background with an advanced degree in a relevant discipline; MD, PhD, PharmD, or MBA strongly preferred.
- Fluent written and spoken English and Chinese and/or Japanese required.

- Direct or matrixed people management experience.
- Experience providing therapeutic-area expertise and coaching junior Project Team Leaders.
