Laboratory Manager (Coal Testing)

Location: Middelburg, South Africa; onsite, full-time

What you will do

• Plan, organize, lead and control laboratory operations and monitor operational performance.
• Manage revenue, expenses, budgets, pricing policies, accounts receivable and DSO.
• Ensure adequate staffing, equipment and tools for efficient operations.
• Maintain and continuously improve quality management, certification, accreditation and QHSE systems.
• Provide technical and sales support, client liaison, proposal coordination, and complaint and claim resolution.
• Lead meetings, service-level reviews and client satisfaction surveys while monitoring Glencore KPI performance.

Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Chemistry, preferably.
• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Physical Science.
• At least 3 years of managerial or supervisory experience, preferably in a coal environment.
• Essential experience in coal sampling, sample preparation, analysis and coal beneficiation.
• Experience with budgets, cost control and evaluation of data and results.
• Strong client liaison, interpersonal, communication, goal-oriented and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• TQMS qualification.
