Lead Java Engineer, Fullstack Development (Java): Building and enhancing enterprise-grade annuities and insurance applications with an accent on Java, Spring Boot, Angular, and scalable fullstack architecture. Focus on independently solving complex system requirements, supporting document management functionality, mentoring developers, and maintaining reliable software through CI/CD, secure coding, and production support.
Location: Saint Petersburg, Florida, United States; hybrid schedule with office attendance 2–3 days per week at the St. Petersburg corporate office

is a large financial services organization developing enterprise-scale applications for its business.
What you will do
- Lead development for annuities and insurance applications, delivering new features and enhancements.
- Design and implement scalable fullstack solutions using Java, Spring, Spring Boot, and Angular.
- Analyze complex requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions independently.
- Support and enhance document management functionality within the Java ecosystem.
- Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and developers to align delivery with business and technical goals.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship, participate in code reviews, testing, validation, and production support rotations.
Requirements
- 10+ years of hands-on Java experience, including Java 8+, Spring, Spring Boot, REST, SOAP, and microservices.
- 5+ years leading Angular development in a fullstack capacity.
- Strong knowledge of software engineering principles, object-oriented design, and design patterns.
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, integration frameworks, and distributed caching.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, secure coding, and modular design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer and Information Science required; strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, leadership, and mentoring skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with streaming technologies such as Kafka.
- Background in financial services or enterprise-scale applications.
