Patent Analyst: Engineer 2 - Intellectual Property (HVACR)

Location: Quezon City, Manila, Philippines; hybrid setup with on-site work three times per week

What you will do

• Conduct patentability, invalidity, freedom-to-operate, and patent watch assessments through comprehensive prior-art searches.
• Develop search strategies, keywords, and classification queries using patent databases, technical manuals, journals, and other reliable sources.
• Monitor newly published and granted patents to identify business risks, opportunities, competitor activity, and emerging market directions.
• Prepare patent summaries, abstracts, reports, and intellectual property records for Legal, R&D, engineering, and business stakeholders.
• Perform patent landscape analysis, technology mapping, and competitive intelligence within the HVAC-related consumer products and related industries.
• Support engineering and R&D teams with identifying patentable innovations, drafting invention disclosures, and preparing technical documentation for patent filings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or College Degree in Chemical, Materials Science, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic, Environmental/Health/Safety Engineering, or a related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in R&D, quality control, product development, design engineering, or process engineering.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with excellent written and verbal communication.
• Knowledge or experience in technical writing and patent searching; technical documentation or publication writing experience is advantageous.
• Applicants must be Filipino citizens and available for full-time employment.
• Work shift: 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, Monday to Friday; on-site work is required three times per week.
