What you will do
- Review complex commercial real estate appraisal and evaluation reports for collateral supporting commercial loan transactions.
- Assess valuation reports for compliance, credibility, reasonableness, and suitability for bank loan decision-making.
- Prepare written appraisal review, evaluation review, and value validation reports, including analysis of methodology and conclusions.
- Procure appropriate appraisals and evaluations from qualified vendors on the approved vendor list.
- Coordinate with appraisal vendors and bank associates to obtain information and complete valuation products on time.
- Maintain appraisal independence and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of appraisal experience, with a focus on writing or reviewing complex reports.
- State Certified General Real Estate Appraiser License.
- Ability to read and understand complex commercial appraisal reports.
- Knowledge of commercial appraisal methodologies, including income, cost, and sales comparison approaches.
- Knowledge of USPAP and familiarity with FIRREA, OCC, FDIC, and other real estate valuation regulations.
- Clear written and verbal communication, accuracy in reviewing valuation documents, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Real Estate.
- Proficiency in ARGUS.
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
- General knowledge of banking activities, operations, and regulatory compliance.
