Incident Response Senior Consultant (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote in Japan, Tokyo

What you will do

• Lead incident response engagements and projects across the APJ region.
• Perform advanced host and network forensic investigations across Windows, Mac, and Linux platforms.
• Advise customers on responding to threat actor activity and develop incident findings and recommendations.
• Prepare written reports and presentations for technical audiences, non-technical stakeholders, and senior executives.
• Lead English- and Japanese-language scoping calls with customers and employees to gather incident information.
• Contribute to industry thought leadership through blog posts, CrowdCasts, conferences, and other public speaking events.

Requirements

• Experience conducting or managing incident response investigations involving targeted threats such as APTs, organized crime, and hacktivists.
• Experience with computer forensic tools and determining the scope and extent of compromise.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, network analysis tools, and associated network logs.
• Deep understanding of targeted attacks, incident remediation, threat intelligence, and adversary attribution.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including presenting technical content to senior executives.
• Fluent Japanese at native-speaker level and fluent English are required, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages. Proven experience using AI technologies to improve decision-making, workflows, efficiency, and business outcomes is also required.

Nice to have

• Scripting experience with Python, Perl, Bash, PowerShell, or similar tools.
• Experience using CrowdStrike Falcon, Splunk, LogScale, or similar solutions.
• Host and network forensics experience, including basic static and behavioral malware analysis.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent direct experience in information security, information systems, or computer science.
• Security certifications such as GCIA, GCIH, GCFA, or GNFA.
