Staff Applications Software Engineer (Embedded)

What you will do

• Develop, debug, port, and analyze embedded MCU drivers, algorithms, application code, board support packages, scripts, and test cases.
• Support the Apollo and Atomiq SoC families, SDKs, customer evaluation hardware, and software examples.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, field engineering, and customer teams to resolve complex system-level issues.
• Develop software for hardware evaluation, microcontroller performance analysis, and silicon issue debugging.
• Create application notes, knowledge-base articles, and software design guidelines.
• Track field issues and coordinate communication between engineering and field teams.

Requirements

• MS in ECE or Computer Science with 6+ years of experience, or BS in ECE/Computer Science with 8+ years of experience.
• Professional embedded MCU development in C and experience with real-time embedded systems.
• Experience with an MCU IDE such as ARM, Keil, IAR, or SEGGER.
• Familiarity with MCU peripherals including SPI, I2C, UART, ADC, USB, I2S, and PDM.
• Experience with Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy, hands-on laboratory work, and Git-based source control.
• Strong problem-solving, written communication, and oral communication skills for complex hardware/software debugging.

Nice to have

• Experience with Zephyr, MIPI, Zigbee, Thread, embedded security, cryptographic algorithms, graphics, and display technologies.
• Python experience and familiarity with modern AI-assisted software development tools such as Cursor or Codex.
