Senior Cost Engineering Specialist (Infrastructure): Leading cost management, forecasting, earned value analysis, change management, and financial performance reporting for complex infrastructure, transportation, and capital improvement programs with an accent on budget control, EAC calculations, and project risk analysis. Focus on building forecasting models, evaluating cost impacts of scope changes, analyzing CPI and SPI, and communicating financial performance to clients and project leadership.

Location: Dallas, Texas, United States; full-time onsite role

Salary: $116,930.89–$133,635.31 per year

What you will do

  • Lead project budget development, cost reporting, cash flow forecasting, and Estimate at Completion calculations.
  • Monitor expenditures, commitments, accruals, forecasts, variances, trends, and productivity.
  • Implement Earned Value Management processes and analyze CPI, SPI, and other performance indicators.
  • Evaluate change orders, contract modifications, and scope changes, including cost impacts and documentation.
  • Perform cost risk analysis, contingency evaluations, scenario modeling, and integrated project performance assessments.
  • Present financial performance to clients and leadership while mentoring junior cost engineering and project controls professionals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, finance, accounting, economics, project controls, or a related discipline.
  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in cost engineering, project controls, construction management, or program controls.
  • Experience supporting large transportation, infrastructure, aviation, transit, facilities, energy, or capital improvement programs.
  • Advanced skills in cost forecasting, budget management, Earned Value Management, cost variance analysis, change management, and financial performance reporting.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the ability to independently manage multiple assignments.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

  • AACE International certifications such as CCP, EVP, or PSP.
  • Experience with e-Builder, Kahua, Oracle Primavera Unifier, Deltek Cobra, or EcoSys.
  • Public-sector or transportation client experience and familiarity with Primavera P6 and schedule-cost integration.
  • Experience supporting projects valued at $100M or more.
