TL;DR
Senior Developer I - Equities Investment Technology (AI/Financial Technology): Building and scaling full-stack applications, investment workflows, and data platforms for equity portfolio managers and research analysts with an accent on AI, data modeling, market data, and scalable cloud solutions. Focus on designing trading and portfolio-management systems, integrating streaming and ETL pipelines, supporting production platforms, and improving performance, reliability, and observability.
Location: New York, NY; hybrid work. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
Salary: $130,000–$170,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus and benefits.

What you will do
- Architect, build, and scale applications for portfolio managers, research analysts, trading, portfolio management, and equity analytics.
- Translate investment and business requirements into well-architected technology solutions across the full software development lifecycle.
- Develop investment workflows, APIs, maintainable code, and automated unit, integration, and data tests.
- Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and investment professionals through agile ceremonies, code reviews, and technical documentation.
- Support live platforms by troubleshooting production issues, monitoring performance, and improving reliability and observability.
- Prioritize backlogs and manage releases using modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD and containerized deployments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5–10 years of professional software development experience in a full-stack role within the financial industry.
- Proficiency in at least one of Python, C++, or Java.
- Strong data fluency, including data modeling, SQL, ETL pipelines, market data, streaming pipelines, and data integrity.
- Experience with cloud and containerized applications on Kubernetes or OpenShift, plus databases such as Snowflake and Microsoft SQL Server.
- Knowledge of Git, modern SDLC and DevOps practices, agile methods, CI/CD, testing strategies, and observability.
Nice to have
- Experience with generative AI or agentic frameworks, including prompt engineering, RAG, orchestration, or evaluation.
- Familiarity with portfolio management workflows, buy-side order management systems, and the full trade lifecycle.
- In-depth knowledge of equities markets, stocks, ETFs, derivatives, and front-, middle-, and back-office buy-side systems.
