Senior Data Engineer (Data Platforms)

Location: Denver, Colorado, USA; in-office 5 days a week

Salary: USD 125,000–145,000 yearly plus annual bonus

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable pipelines for ingesting, transforming, and delivering diverse datasets.
• Build reusable SQL and Python solutions for data processing, automation, and integration.
• Optimize cloud data workflows for performance, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
• Integrate internal and external data sources into centralized data platforms supporting analytics, machine learning, and business applications.
• Implement data governance, security, monitoring, troubleshooting, and data quality practices.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, application teams, and business stakeholders while mentoring less-experienced engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in data or related engineering roles, including 5+ years focused on data engineering.
• Advanced SQL and/or Python skills for data processing, transformation, and automation.
• Experience building data pipelines, integration workflows, cloud data ecosystems, ETL/ELT processes, and orchestration patterns.
• Knowledge of data modeling, query tuning, CI/CD, data governance, security, and sensitive data such as PII.
• Strong communication, collaboration, analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed data processing, declarative pipeline frameworks, or cloud-native workflow tools.
• Knowledge of metadata management, data cataloging, columnar storage, and big-data file formats.
• Familiarity with Parquet, Delta, or Iceberg table formats.
